For 20 years, coach Arsene Wenger has done one of the best things: Signing with Thierry Henry and making him the best striker in Premier League history.
Coach Arsene Wenger understands Thierry Henry well. He himself gave the French striker the first contract in his career. It was 1994 when Wenger led Monaco, while Henry was the young talent growing from the club’s academy. A year later, Wenger had to leave the Louis II home team to Japan to lead Nagoya Grampus Eight, and Henry was sold to Juventus in January 1999.
Fate is set. In March 1999, Wenger ran into Henry again on a flight back to Paris. At that time, Wenger was Arsenal’s manager and was looking for a top striker. And Henry is not happy at Juventus. That fateful encounter changed Arsenal’s history and English football.
HEnry was born on the outskirts of Les Ulis in Paris. During the first few years of playing football at local teams, he was suspected and attracted attention to talent.
Some people claim that he plays because of his father’s pressure. It was not until he joined the Clairefontaine training academy in 1992, the coaches and scouts realized something very special in every move of little Henry. However, they also asked if he could develop to master the skills themselves?
Wenger has appeared and developed Henry’s talent. He awarded Henry the first professional contract at AS Monaco in August 1994. He then persuaded Henry to leave Juventus to join Arsenal in August 1999. Wenger realized Henry’s explosive, sharp, spectacular acceleration and helped him become one of the greatest players in the Premier League history.
